Howe Sound Geology Tour – July 15, 2026
An enthusiastic group of 19 Probus Club members joined the Geology Tour on July 15th. Led by Lindsay Bottomer, a Club member and Geologist who possesses a wealth of education and knowledge in regards to the rock formations that surround us on the North Shore and up the Sea to Sky highway.
We enjoyed stops to view the rock formations and volcanic and glacier history at Eagle Ridge, Porteau Cove, and the Brandywine Falls area. It was a wonderful sunny day to enjoy the beauty of the area we all call home. Included below is a photo of the Van City Traffic Control seen on route. Following our “rocky adventure” we enjoyed a lunch together in Squamish while taking in the FIFA World Cup match between England and Argentina. Photos courtesy of member Terry McLeod
